I think that dreams are the effect/outburst of the content in the subconscious.Why ponder on the outburst and let it countereffect by thinking about what it meant?Theres things that influence us/effect us at a subconscious level,so what?If its being let out in the form of a dream,its a good thing,mind becomes more lucid enough to accept newer experiences.

Pondering over dreams and interpreting them per se is a disorder engulfed by idlers.Maybe Freud was idelistic when he wrote this book,that jerk.I like C.G Jungs take.Interpreting dreams to take a peak into the subconscious mind is a half-way to destination.Subconscious comes much later,tell me,whos got conscious these days to let effect anything at the subconscious level.There is no subconscious in the modern era.
